TALES FROM THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OF ELVIS (comedy)

Based on Mercy Malick's award-winning stage play, Tales From the Catholic Church of Elvis is a comedic yet poignant memoir about the inherent confusion of growing up as a Catholic schoolgirl in Las Vegas. Mixing live theatrical performance with dramatic reenactments, comic book style animations, photo-montages, and even sock-puppets, Tales is a multimedia sensation! Malick brings on both laughter and tears and provides a unique insight into the inevitable contradictions of trying to live a righteous life in Sin City.

Malick's wit and engaging performance captivates viewers as she relates hilarious and touching stories ranging from "The Miracle of Birth" to "The Trailer Trash Tatoo" and even "Poop In A Pizza Box". She is surrounded by a terrific and hilarious supporting cast including LARRY GELMAN as the insatiably horny double-amputee Sydney, MARY EILEEN O'DONNELL as the stern but savvy Sister Macdonald, and GWEN VAN DAM as Mercy's stoic alcoholic Aunt who teaches Mercy important life lessons even as she succombs to Cancer. Finally, in an impressive and sophisticated turn, ARIEL WINTER portrays Mercy as a young girl, uniquely capturing the chaos and pathos inherent in Malick's delightful tales.
